Fitting instructions for used gearboxes

1- INTRODUCTION

We are pleased that you have chosen a GPA used part. The quality of our product and the quality of the assembly determine the degree of customer satisfaction. Please take a moment to read the general instructions supplied with our products. This may save you valuable time later on.

2- GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Make sure that the product delivered is the correct model. If you check it before you start installing it, you could save yourself a lot of trouble later on.

Note: a box may be delivered with peripheral components left free of charge (tachometer, stopper, electronic calculator, solenoid control valve, etc.), so they are not guaranteed. The warranty applies to the bare box.

WARNING: To avoid damage to the remanufactured gearbox, it is important to rectify any problems that have occurred on the defective gearbox, if the cause is external, before reassembling the new gearbox and installing the new parts required for proper assembly.

 CLEANING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT

It is advisable to clean the engine compartment after removing the old box. Your customer will appreciate it, and fitting the new one will be easier and more pleasant.

PLUGS

Most of the openings in the box are fitted with a plug. These should be removed as the box is fitted.

FASTENERS

Ensure that bolts and nuts are tightened to the recommended torque. Some nuts and bolts cannot be reused. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

CONVENTIONAL SCREWS

Conventional screws must be tightened to the recommended torque. Always follow the standards recommended by the manufacturer.

TRANSMISSION O-RINGS

Transmission seals must be replaced with new ones.

CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING GUIDE

The clutch release bearing guide must always be replaced by a new one.

CLUTCH KIT

It is preferable to fit a new clutch kit when replacing the gearbox, as this will avoid the need to dismantle the clutch at a later date. It is economically preferable to change the clutch in order to limit labour costs.
