End-of life-vehicles supply
Most vehicles handled by GPA come from partnerships with large French insurance groups. When a vehicle is declared out of order after a damage (crash, floods, fires ...) or because of a theft, we are mandated to recover it.
The 24 000 vehicles processed each year are regrouped in our depositories covering all the national territory.
15 of our trucks are crossing France daily to repatriate vehicles in our 24 hectares site in Livron.
After the arrival of our trucks (1), the vehicle is picked up by an operator who unloads the trailer, before being photographed under 21 different angles.
It is then stored on the ATC yard, while formalizing the documents with the insurance companies (2). Once GPA gains ownership the vehicle, it is transferred to another yard waiting for its disassembly (3). During this period, it is not accessible to customers or salespersons and no items are removed on site.
Once the vehicle has been planned for its disassembly, it is identified and transferred to our disassembly workshops (4), where it will first undergo a clean-up process (emptying fluids and removing tires). They are then transferred to a second operator who completely disassembles the vehicle and places the parts in good condition on a cart, according to our specifications and the needs of the stock. Every day, there are 30 vehicles passing through this workshop (5).
The carcass of the vehicle, devoid of its polluting elements and a large part of the removable elements is finally crushed (6) and then removed by a service provider responsible for recycling the material.
How a used part is made
The cart of parts taken during disassembly is transferred to the processing area, where they are checked, cleaned, labelled and photographed on three different angles.
They are finally stored by product family in locations adapted to their format, then scanned and linked to a rack number.
The part then appears in real time on our sales softwares, accompanied by its pictures, a listing of its characteristics (reference read on the part, dimensions, operating modes, color, etc.) and the history of the source vehicle. It is then synchronized on www.gpa26.com as well as on all of our online sales platforms such as Ebay.
